- In 1977, Kern & Company, Inc. was formed to respond to emerging needs of business and developed strategically located office parks, office buildings, industrial parks and shopping centers in the Atlanta area. In 1984, Kern acquired Lincoln National Development Corporation from Lincoln National Life Insurance Company with partners AT&T and Eastman Kodak who were represented by Goldman Sachs. Kern has developed and owned a variety of real estate assets worth over $1 billion located throughout the USA.
- In 1995, we reorganized as United Retail Development Company, LLC, with a focus on quality credit, freestanding retail development.
- In 2005, Cornerstone Development Partners, LLC organized to continue our focus on quality credit, freestanding and neighborhood retail center development, creating timely store openings in the best markets on great sites.
